The vote by the Federal Committee of the Union of European Federalists (UEF), gathered in Warsaw on November 18th 2012, confirmed Horitzó Europa as a candidate to become member of the Union. A delegation of Horitzó Europa board members attended the meeting to present the association to the rest of delegations. Previously, Horitzó Europa had presented a candidacy to become a UEF member and had received a recommendation by the UEF Executive Bureau.

The vote resulted in 52 favourable votes and 5 abstentions. The UEF membership will have to be ratified in November 2013 during the next UEF Congress which takes place as every two years.

This recognition brings the activities of Horitzó Europa in line with a common strategy of European federalists. Horitzó Europa understands this recognition as a sign to keep promoting the European spirit in Catalonia and makes the commitment to foster the establishment of further and new pro-European associations all over Spain.
